My Son Completed High School Online Courses!

21 November 2009

My son is 17 years old now, and he will be entering college this year. I am so proud of my boy! When he was 15, we moved into a new school district where the school he was required to attend was pretty dangerous. My son has always been an excellent student, and I knew he would have a hard time learning in an environment like that. When he proposed that maybe he could do one of the high school online courses that he had located online, I thought it was a good idea. My boy has not only done well and been able to get his GED easily, but he is far ahead of his counterparts, who are still in their senior year.

Software for Homeschooling

10 November 2009

Since I homeschool my three children I spend a lot of my time looking for good educational software to supplement their lesson plans. I have found a lot of great programs by searching and reading reviews online. My children love them because they are a lot of fun, and I love them because they are learning without even realizing it. Another great thing about the software is that there is such a wide variety of different programs. My children never get bored by having to use the same program all of the time. This software is a wonderful tool for people who homeschool or just want to give their children extra practice.

David O. Mckay

17 October 2009

David O. McKay was born on September 8, 1873 in Huntsville, Utah. According to mormon history, McKay served an LDS mission to Great Britain for two years. David O. McKay married Emma Ray Riggs on January 2, 1901. Just five year later McKay was called to be an Apostle to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. David O. McKay was ordained President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1950, and on April 9, 1951, he was ordained President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. During his presidency, according to Mormon history, the church softened their stance on blacks holding the priesthood. If dark-skinned people could not be traced back to being African they were allowed to hold the priesthood. After 19 years as President of the Church, McKay passed away on January 18, 1970.

Overview of a Typical Curriculum in Accelerated Nursing Programs

14 October 2009

It is assumed that those planning to enroll in Accelerated Nursing Programs have already completed basic courses for their non-nursing undergraduate degree. A fast-track nursing program at the baccalaureate or master’s level, therefore, has a curriculum with subjects that are pertinent only to the nursing profession. Such a program usually focuses on topics such as nursing research, health care systems, pathophysiology, management and leadership, and nursing for psychiatric and mental health. Students may also be required to study nursing pharmacology and family nursing. An accelerated nursing program is accomplished in a much shorter time than a traditional nursing degree, so the study of these and other subjects can be more intensive than the usual.

I Need a Nap

09 October 2009

I think I got maybe 2 hours of sleep last night because I was waking up in miserable pain. My exmormon friend said if I ever have nights like those, I can call her the next day if it’s her day off and she would be happy to take my kids while I take a nap. I think I will take my exmormon friend up on her offer because I’m miserable and I need a nap. I think my drugs will be kicking in soon and I might actually be able to fall asleep. I hope tonight goes much better because I don’t know how much more of this I can take.

Share the bees’ labor

About one-third of the natural glucose content has spontaneously crystallized from solution as the carbohydrate source. And, of course, bees perform a vital second function - pollination. Arby’s is Really Disgusting

29 September 2009

My exmormon friend thinks Arby’s is the greatest restaurant on earth. Whenever we talk about where we should eat, he always chooses that place. When I think restaurant, I think, “Bring me a menu, bring me the food, and refill my water or soda for me.” Also, I think of food that won’t make me violently ill afterwards. I don’t know what’s in their roast beef sandwiches, but apparently there’s something my exmormon friend handles just fine that I don’t. I’ll stick with my Italian place that has all fresh ingredients. I never ever sick when I go there.

Visiting more often

25 September 2009

We live really close to a mormon temple and we should attend a lot more often as we’re encouraged to do. When we lived far away, we would complain about that and say how we would go a lot more often if we lived closer, but that hasn’t turned out to be true until recently, at least for my husband. He has been going every week, but lately he started school and that makes it more difficult. Having a nursing baby makes it hard for me to visit the mormon temple, but I need to do that really soon.
